100% Renewable Electricity: MarinCAN supports MCE actions to reach its goals of providing systemwide fossil-fuel-free electricity by 2030 and 100% renewable electricity by 2045, cutting Marin's GHG emissions by about 4% and forming a solid foundation for emission-free transportation and buildings.

Zero Emission Vehicles: Switching to zero-emission vehicles and electric bikes addresses 54% of Marin’s greenhouse gas emissions. This solution accelerates widespread adoption of zero-emission vehicles by Marin’s residents and employees through a new collaborative campaign, Ride and Drive Clean. The campaign includes targeted EV outreach, incentives, and infrastructure for low-income communities.

All-Electric Buildings: A new countrywide Building Electrification Plan targets the 27% of GHG emitted by burning gas in building appliances. A key strategy is to provide incentives to households of all income levels that would help close any cost gaps, discouraging the switch to clean electric appliances.

Agricultural Institute of Marin (AIM) Center for Food and Agriculture: A new Farmers Market will be the connection point between those who need quality foods and those who make their livelihood providing it in ways that regenerate healthy soils, healthy pastures, and healthy seas. The Center seeks to make both sustainable local food and the knowledge needed to grow it accessible and affordable to all Marin residents, enhancing food security, helping support and grow the local food workforce, and addressing 9% of the county's GHG.
Marin Biomass Project: Assesses biomass recovery in Marin, including the feasibility and greenhouse gas reduction potential of alternative recovery pathways. The project includes stakeholder collaboration to address increased biomass recovery needs due to recent state laws and Marin's wildfire prevention efforts. Implementation offers opportunities for economic development, jobs, and about 3% less GHG.
Marin Carbon Farming Initiative: Expands implementation of high-impact measures to return atmospheric carbon to productive agricultural use. By 2030, the project will engage 60 Marin farms and ranches, drawing down 185,839 metric tons of CO2. By 2045, it anticipates 180 Marin carbon farms, sequestering over 525,000 tons (about double projected GHG emissions), while helping to revitalize the local farm economy.

Resilient Neighborhoods: Climate Protection and Resilience (CPR) for the Planet adapts this comprehensive program to engage more residents in more Marin communities to reduce GHG emissions and become more resilient to climate impacts. It pilots ways to reach wider audiences equitably, with programs that include reducing consumption, lessening climate anxiety, and engaging everyone in achieving climate-responsible lifestyles.

Canal Sea Level Rise Resilience: The City of San Rafael and County of Marin are working with community-based organizations in the Canal Neighborhood to define resilience, build the capacity of the community to withstand climate impacts, and identify options to protect the community from sea level rise.
Fairfax Pavilion Microgrid Pilot Project: The Town of Fairfax and its partners are working to build a Community Resilience Hub at the Fairfax Pavilion. It will provide a community gathering space and childcare center during power shut-offs, showcase the latest battery storage technology, and educate and inspire other towns to pursue similar projects.
Marin Climate Mobilization Decade: MarinCAN is considering a citizen ballot initiative to provide the core funds needed to leverage support of these key Climate Solutions at the scale and speed necessary to prepare Marin for accelerating climate impacts and to move below net-zero climate pollution by 2045.
